PFALL CHILI PFEST
Join us in Downtown Pflugerville for the 12th annual Pfall Chili Pfest, pfeaturing the Chili Cook-off and tasting, live music, vendors, food & drink, the jalapeño and pickle eating contests and a kid’s area.
Noon – 2:30 pm: Live Music from Blind Innocence
Noon – 3 pm: Tasting Time – Chili Cook-off Contest Entries
Taste the best chili in Pflugerville and vote for your favorite. Sample the chili at any of the booths by purchasing a package of 10 two-oz. cups and spoons for $5. (Sorry, there are no outside cups or bowls allowed.)
Noon – 5 pm: Pfree Kid’s Area, Chili Pfest Car Club (hosted by Sweet Rides of Central Texas) & Shopping
3 – 3:30 pm: Jalapeño Eating Contest
Four minutes to eat as many jalapeño peppers as you can. Winners receive cash prize and bragging rights! Sign-up at the event, free to compete. (18+)
3:30 – 4:00 pm: Pickle Eating Contest
Four minutes to eat as many pickles as you can. Winners receive cash prize and bragging rights! Sign-up at the event, free to compete. Ages (6-12) & (13-17)
4:30 pm: Cook-off Contest Awards
5 pm: Event Ends
Are my pfurry pfriends welcome at this event?
Dog are welcome at Pfall Chili Pfest! Please make sure they are on a leash. Dogs are not permitted on the parking shuttle, so if you bring your pet please plan to park in a nearby lot.
Where can I park?
A free shuttle bus runs from the Pflugerville ISD Administration Building, 1401 S. Pecan St., starting at 11:30 am. The drop-off point is at Main Street & 4th Street. The event is on Main Street, between Railroad Avenue and 4th Street. You can also park at nearby lots or open streets and walk into the event site. It’s easy to get to. Those needing handicapped parking can park behind City Hall.
How long is the event?
Chili Pfest starts at noon and runs until 5 p.m. Tasting begins at noon and runs until 3 p.m. – or until the chili runs out. Music, fun for kids and other vendors are on site until 5 p.m.
Can I sample the chili? – Please bring cash.
Starting at noon, the public can sample the chili at any of the booths. But first, purchase a package of 10 two-oz. cups and spoons for $5 from one of two ticket booths (no personal cups, outside cups or bowls are allowed), then it’s off and running to sample what the cooks have concocted. But hurry, as the chili sometimes runs out fast. When you’re done sampling, use the tickets that came with your tasting cups to vote for your favorite. Chili cups are cash only.
Is there any entertainment?
In addition to the chili sampling and competition, there is live music and a Jalapeno & Pickle Eating contests. The free Kid’s Area has inflatables and face painters (please tip them, if you can). The Man Cave at Hanovers Draught Haus features college football on TV, indoors and outside at the back deck.
